About Us

The North Shore Radio Club was founded in 1930 to promote the benefits of radio, electronics, science, technology, engineering and math in the Auckland community.

We have meetings every first Monday of the month at 7:30 PM in our club room located at 400 East Coast Road, Sunnynook, Auckland 0630, New Zealand. Everyone is welcome to join.

MONTHLY MONDAY NIGHT MEETINGS

On the first Monday of every month, we have a guest speaker come along and do a talk.

Andy Brill ZL1COP is seen here giving an overview of AREC and its future.

AREC

AREC (Amateur radio emergency communications) meet once every month on a Thursday night. They also provide skilled radio operators for Car rallies, Search and Rescue operations plus much more.

Photo is of a recent SAR training exercise at Huia out in the Waitakere ranges where AREC set up radio communication for the Land SAR team.

RAdio COntests

We love our radio contests. Throughout the year there are a few radio contests. We strive to take part in them. We have even operated from the lighthouse at Tiritiri Matangi. How cool is that!
